In defense of the humble d6
Opinion
Not every great game needs a fistful of polyhedrals.
The d20 gets the glory, but the six-sided die quietly runs half the hobby. It’s on every kitchen table, in every board game box, and at the heart of some of the most elegant systems ever printed. There is nothing humble about doing that much work.
A great game isn’t measured by how many sides its dice have. Give us a clever d6 engine over a bag of neglected polyhedrals any night — and Creg will fight you on it if you disagree.
